Difference between glass and qurtzq
1. Glass-
Glass is an amorphous from of silica (siO²).
1. Quartz-
Quartz is a crystalline from of silica (siO²).
2.Glass -
In glass (siO⁴) tetrahedral are randomly joined to each other and doesn't have a long range regular structure .
2. Quartz -
In quartz (SiO⁴) tetrahedral are regularly joined to each other and have a long range regular structure .
3. Glass -
It has no sharp melting point .
3. Quartz -
It has a sharp melting point .
On melting point and then suddenly cooling , a quartz is converted to glass.
