Difference between orbit and orbital

Difference between orbit and orbital

Orbit >
1 - It is well defined circular path around the nucleus in which the electron revolves .

Orbital>
It is a neighborhood in three dimensional space all  around the nucleus where the probability of finding electron is maximum.

Orbit >
2-  It is circular in shape .

Orbital >
s,p and d - orbitals are spherical , dumbbell and double dumbbell in shape respectively .

Orbit >
3- it represents that an electron moves around the nucleus in one plane .

Orbital >
It represents that an electron can move around nucleus along three dimensional space x,y and z axis .

Orbit >
4 - it represents that the position as as momentum of an electron can be known simultaneously with certain . It is against Heisenberg's uncertainty principle .

Orbital >
It represents that position as well as momentum of an electron cannot be simultaneously  with certainty . It is in accordance with Heisenberg's uncertainty principle .

Orbit >
5-  most of electrons in an orbit is 2n² where (n) is the number of the orbit .

Orbital >
Most of electrons in an orbital is 2.
